Time Strategies

My schedule for this class I said I would do my work from Thursday to Saturday but since we got new timetable, I am going to work on Tuesday get as much work as I can and whatever work I have left I am going to do it on Thursday or Friday. For the rest of my module, I will do the work in lab class or whatever day I am free.  Hopefully, I will be ahead of the work or just on time and not late doing my work for anything of the modules.  The two articles I read was  Time Management Tips Just for Creatives  By Amanda Oliver and  4 Questions to Help You Overcome Procrastination  By Peter Banerjea. The articles was really useful and I learned that I shouldn't just rush it and not give myself some breaks, which was something I nearly done this week. My biggest time challenges would probably balancing college work and family event out since I have a big family there's always something going on maybe twice or more every month.  Too much work not enough time; Source:  Wikiped

Thoughts on technology tools

My opinion of these Technology tools Blogging isn't something I did before and I would like to learn about the different style of blogging and see what people chose to do with their blog. Personally, I wouldn't write a blog and maybe reading other people's blog would be handy in the future since I don't know what I want to do in the future yet. Maybe blogging would be included with the work I am going to do in the future. Bookmarking like keeping a tracks on different websites or web pages are something I'm familiar with, I still use the bookmarking tool for shopping so if I like something I want to buy or a websites of learning the easy way of finger-style guitar I would save them and easily find it. I used Pinterest for a few modules last year and I would pin them in a folder. I never knew Pinterest would be helpful, I still use it for personal reasons something I didn't think I would use for non college work.  Editing images are something I do ever

How I feel about these assignments

We are going to be using new software that I never used before and I am a little nervous because I know I would be so lost and confused. I just hope it is not hard and understand how to use Unity3D but I am excited to see what we will be doing with Unity3D.  Reading and writing about it on my blog is something I never thought I would be doing but I will just have to get used to it. Also, leaving comments on other student's blog is different since I never comment or anything, but it would be interesting to learn for other student and see how they felt about my blog.  My first impressions having to write a blog was shocking because I didn't think for this module we have to write a blog based on our thoughts about something. I was and wasn't excited for it. The tech tasks and growth mindset extra credits options grabbed my attention. Tech tasks because it will give me a chance to learn about the different kinds of the web technology tools that I could use and be helpful fo

Thoughts about Growth Mindset

I never heard of Carol Dweck or the Growth Mindset before and I learned that using the grade "Not Yet", you will understand that you're on a learning curve and loving challenges. There is two mindset, Fixed and Growth. A fixed mindset is scared to look dumb and is always wanting to looks smart. A growth mindset believes that intelligence can be developed through their effort, dedication, learning and mentorship.  Showing effort is a good thing because we can learn new things while showing your ability if you are trying. Learning your mistakes if a good thing, it helps you know what to do and what not to do next time if you even come across it again. Praising their effort and not their intelligence will make them what new and difficult challenges. You should value the process and not the intelligence, if you value their intelligence it would put them into a fixed mindset and if you value their process it would put them into a growth mindset. Praising their intellig

Challenge: Exploring the Growth Mindset

I decided to watch another video based on Growth Mindset. I chose to watch a video called "The surprising habits of  Original Thinkers" by Adam Grant on  TED .   "Original Thinkers" video on YouTube When I was watching the video, I already knew what a procrastinators is like since I watched a TED talk about  the mind of a procrastinator . Since I knew about procrastinators, I just thought that there was and wasn't one. I didn't think there would be an original thinker. A person who is between pre-crastinators and procrastinators. A photo that was used in Adam Grant's talk. Source:  TED talks I am curious of what it is like to be an original thinker and I would like to use this blog or one of the assignments I am going to do for this semester to teach or learn how to be an original thinker. In order to act on it, I am going to write as much as I can on my assignments ideas and if I have any doubts of failing and being embarrassed. Even i

INTRODUCTION

ABOUT ME My name is Nhu Thai. I am really shy but after you know me you will probably regret knowing me. I love meme, I mean who doesn't? I am the oldest and I have 2 annoying brothers and one told me to write that he's a good singer...he thinks he's Beyonce... The best module I took from last year was probably web development because I like doing the coding but I also hate it at the same time. I understood it because I took down notes and ask the lecturer and classmates for help. When I saw that web development was one of my highest grade I was shocked and happy.  Career wise... I don’t really know exactly what I want to do. I would like to go and do something that involves media but I still don’t know if I want it for the long term yet. If I am doing it for the long term, I would like to go to graphic design or photography or website design.  Over the summer, I went to Disneyland Paris again. I only went because my little cousins wanted to go and I thought it

Workshop 01

Traffic Light Exercise In this blog, I am going to talk about the traffic light and it wasn’t really something I am familiar with, I didn’t really know how it works when the traffic light is broken but I did know that the car one the right-hand side always goes first since it’s similar to how roundabout works It was new for me since I haven’t done or study the theories questions yet. I learned that when two cars don’t cross paths and is just going straight ahead then the pedestrians from south and north can go and cross the road. It also works both ways like north and south ore east and west.   Roundabout.  Source:  Wikimedia How I felt about the delivery method was helpful and I learned more when I started to talk to the person next to me. When we were working in groups was easy but difficult at the same time. I like working in group because I learned from one another. What I didn’t like about it was that some of us didn’t know how traffic lights work so

Favourite Game: Mario Kart

My favourite game is Mario Kart from Nintendo. Mario kart is one of my favourite childhood game and it is still one of my favourite game now. I used to play it with my cousins on our Nintendo DS but now I play it on Nintendo Switch.  We got the Nintendo Switch for my little brother but since he doesn't use it much because he is always playing Fortnite on PS4, the Nintendo Switch is basically mine.  My cousins and I don't really play Mario Kart together anymore because some doesn't have the money and time to get a Nintendo Switch. I did play with my cousin before but our Wifi was too slow we haven't played with each other for a while now. Mario Kart 8, Source:  Flickr
